How Much Does Polished Concrete Cost ?

 The cost of polished concrete can start at $60 per square metre, but on average, grind and seal polished concrete will cost around $100 per square metre. Honed concrete may cost $80 per square metre. Mechanically polished floors may cost $120 or more per square metre.

There are two main ways concrete can be polished:

  • The least expensive way to polish concrete is the grind and seal method. 
  • The most expensive way to polish concrete is mechanically polished concrete. 
  • Each option have pro's and con's, as a DIY, the grind and seal is the most achievable option. But both can be done and we will guide you to your bst option.

Some factors that influence the cost of polished concrete include:

  • The condition of the floor: a rough surface or a surface with cracks will require extra work
  • Whether it's a new floor or existing concrete
  • Accessibility
  • Type of polished concrete needed (grind and seal, honed or mechanically polished)
  • The level of polish
  • Timing of polishing at the start of the building or later on. If the floor is polished before walls and frames this can save costs and time.

This is only a pricing estimate and a more detailed quote can be provided after you contact us. This will help you determine the cost of professionals to complete your grinding when budeting the project. As a rule of thumb it will take a DIY double the time to complete compared to the professionals.

  • Generator hire charges of $250/day or $1000/week + GST apply if no 3 phase power outlet is available onsite
  • Pricing is based on new concrete being poured specifically for the desired finish requested as per our concrete requirements - Concrete Requirements
  • Options for existing/old concrete is limited to a grind and seal. Diamond polished concrete not recommendend in many applications. But please conctact us if your space is commercial as this is different.
  • Pricing is based on mid-large areas, there may be additional charges for areas with lots of small rooms due to handwork required. Simalarly large open spaces may get a discount.
  • Pricing is always subject to a site visit
  • If your floor is below our minimum job size of 50m2 and is an existing, internal area, the cost calculator estimate may not apply to your project and a minimum charge of $1800-$2500 plus GST for day may apply.
